Q&A: would a bad wheel bearing cause the car to pulsate when stoppping?

Question by B U S Y: would a bad wheel bearing cause the car to pulsate when stoppping?
the front and back pads and rotors have been replaced and its still pulsating, then yesterday I heard a loud humming that sounded like a bad wheel bearing. It starts about 45-50 mph and stops when I stop but the car is still pulsating. I feel it in the pedal and the whole car, cant feel it in the steering wheel or seat.
i dont know who gave you guys all thumb down, but I appreciate everyones answers!

You probably have a bad ABS sensor

If a wheel bearing is bad enough (has enough play in it) you could possibly notice some pulsation when braking. The humming noise is indicative of a bearing starting to fail. The most likely cause of your pulsation is a warped brake rotor. If the rotors were turned (resurfaced) it is possible that they are thin enough and got hot enough to warp. We have seen new rotors right out of the box that were warped. You should take the vehicle to a reputable shop and have them inspect it for a bad bearing and check the runout (amount of warpage) on the rotors. Hope this helps!

    It’s not a wheel bearing.
It could be an ABS sensor.

could be a few things…. so here s what id do take to a shop tell them it dont feel right ask them to check it out by driving it tell them how it feels but dont say what you think other than that…. dont give them ideals… i do shop work many yrs think it would be in the brake system and not a bearing…..so say check my brakes they dont feel right

As mentioned, the ABS sensor my be the culprit but the humming sound may indicate something else. Take it back to the brake shop and tell them what’s going on. They usually have a warranty on their brake jobs and they may not charge you any extra to trouble shoot it. Good luck!
